Meta Is Ready To Use AI To Revolutionize WhatsApp & Instagram; What Changes?

Mark Zuckerberg recently announced the birth of a team dedicated to generative artificial intelligence, which must create new futuristic experiences.

Meta is the new name of the American company that controls some of the essential services of the 21st century: from the social networks Facebook and Instagram to the instant messaging software WhatsApp and Messenger.

In the past years, CEO Mark Zuckerberg has made known to the world his willingness to focus on the metaverse, making it a primary focus of all of Meta. But in the last few days, a new announcement has arrived.

The Facebook founder recently announced the formation of a new Meta team, which will deal with artificial intelligence (AI) applied to Instagram and WhatsApp.

More precisely, the group will have to create new products focused on the so-called generative artificial intelligence: those techniques that allow machines to produce media of various kinds similar in all respects to human output.

Artificial Intelligence And Futuristic Experiences

Meta’s choice to focus on artificial intelligence is being shared by many large corporations worldwide. Companies that work in the most diverse sectors and yet share an interest in machine learning techniques.

Zuckerberg explained that the Meta team dedicated to AI would be composed of a selection of professionals from different departments. Chief Product Officer Chris Cox was announced to lead the group.

The team will develop new creative and expressive tools, starting from the user’s daily interactions with written text and images or videos. To get a more concrete idea, it is possible to think of reading a WhatsApp chat and using an Instagram filter.

Daily actions will serve as a starting point to arrive at new futuristic experiences. A new way argues Zuckerberg to experience social networks and perhaps the Internet.

Meta In The Wake Of Open AI

In parallel Meta, he presented its new language model. It’s called LLaMA, a sign language. According to insiders, it testifies to an obvious will on the part of Zuckerberg and his associates: to stay caught up in the race for AI.

Not surprisingly, in recent months, Google is also working on a chatbot: software that simulates a conversation with a human being, currently known as the Bard.

On the other hand, in recent years, language models have found great success among users. From this point of view, it is impossible not to think about the activity of OpenAI, starting from its chatbots created for Microsoft Bing. Up to the now famous ChatGPT, recently also integrated into Snapchat

OpenAI is responsible for DALL-E, another artificial intelligence algorithm that automatically generates images, starting from textual input.

The impression is that in Meta, this kind of solution has been noticed. And that the shared will is to create a proprietary product package capable of establishing itself among the general public.
